Well, that does not seem to have been the case this year. On August 12, a delegation of American senators took advantage of this August to go to Tirana and meet the No. 1 enemy of the Iranian theocracy, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, who leads the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the mullah regime's most significant opposition group.
The U.S. delegation was composed of Senator Roy Blunt (vice chairman of the Senate Republican Conference and member of the Appropriations, Commerce, Science and Transportation, Rules and Administration, Joint Committee on the Library, and Select Intelligence Committees), Senator John Cornyn (a member of the Judiciary, Intelligence, and Finance Committees), and Senator Thom Tillis (member of the Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, Armed Services, Judiciary, Veterans Affairs Committees, plus the Special Committee on Aging).
Mrs. Rajavi had been received by many opponents of the Iranian regime in Tirana. Senator Roy Blunt welcomed the transfer of these opponents from Baghdad to Tirana, which took place in September 2016 and stressed that this relocation was a victory for the Iranian opposition
